| Jack's Wilderness Experience Poem: "Choices" We have the choice to speak until we are heard, or to walk away without ever saying a word. The choice to express feelings and find maturity, or go on living with pain and insecurity. The choice to stand up to that which we fear, or go on looking at ourselves in that broken mirror. The choice to let out that little one inside, or keep him locked up, afraid, giving him reason to hide. The choice to let God take over, let him avail, or keep trying ourselves; never get it and fail. The choice to do what's right, be happy, be glad, or to do what's wrong, be negative, be mad. The choice to ask for help, be vulnerable, be open, or do it on our own, always wishin', always hopin'. The choice to let it go, move on, be strong, or hold unto it ~ you're right, they're wrong. The choice to have a heart, love and care for others, or watch yourself, worry about no one, even your brother. There is a choice in everything that we do. Can't blame others for picking the wrong one ~ because the choice is up to you. ~Jack |
