Frequently Asked Questions for WRC
Wilderness Recovery Center
Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the program?
A minimum planned stay can vary per the individual. We provide
care, education and therapeutic counseling for as long as the
resident is on the facility.  Progressing through the program
depends upon the resident's degree of willingness and ability to
move ahead.  The average stay is between 12 and 18 months.

Parents and Guardians ask: When can I
speak to my son?
After 30 days, the resident is able to make one weekly phone
call to his parent/guardian.

After 60 days, the resident is able to have one supervised 2-hr
visit with his parent/guardian each month.

When residents graduate to 2nd phase (there are 4 phases
total), family counseling begins at 2 x month. Family visits begin
as well, at 2 x month for 6-hrs.

Are you a licensed facility?
In addition to being licensed by the California Department of
Social Services our wilderness treatment center for teen
substance abuse is certified by the State Department of Alcohol
and Drug.

Brian's Wilderness Experience Poem:
"Me"
I gotta be me You gotta be you Don't you see? I'm not you too
I don't gotta be tough don't gotta be strong
Don't gotta be rough don't gotta be wrong
Don't gotta be right don't gotta be smart
Don't gotta be ??????
Now that's a start
Of all these things I don't gotta be
There is one I gotta be, Me.
